The FDA has asked dr to no longer prescribe it with 500 mg acetaminophen but instead to use the mandated reduced 325 mg acetaminophen. The FDA has also asked pharmacists to contact the drs if a rx is written for the 500 mg before filling it.

The hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Lortab, Vicodin, Norco) are still made. But, the amount of acetaminophen has been reduced.

So can you take a Tylenol to get the same results since they lowered it to 325? I'm so used to the 500 and it just isn't the same

Talk to your dr first. The new recommendation from the FDA is not to exceed 3,000 mg of tylenol in a 24 hr period.

It isn't that the FDA has asked them to no longer prescribe the higher amounts, they've gotten the manufacturers to completely stop making them!

Thus, the only thing you will find available at your pharmacy are Norco and its equivalents that contain no more than 325mgs per dose.

Is there anything else I can help with?
