In regards to posts like this, it is very important that it always be stated that every medication carries the risk of causing side effects, even over the counter products.

I know some doctors claim that they don't, but they are either uninformed or are trying to keep you from being afraid of taking a medication they feel you need.

However, when something is prescribed for you, always just assume that it may cause side effects. You may be lucky and not experience any, but there's no way of knowing ahead of time.

As to the Hydrochlorothiazide, it is a diuretic that removes excess fluid from the body, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dry mouth and dehydration.

You can learn more Hydrochlorothiazide details here.

As to how safe it is for long-term use, you should discuss that with your doctor, because it really depends on you, your body, your medical history and how you react to the medication.

Are there any other questions or comments?
