How Much Stronger Is Methadone To Morphine

I would like to know exactly how much more mg methadone has compared to morphine.Thank you!

There is no direct conversion, it can vary depending on what dosage of Morphine was being taken and the individuals tolerance to opiates. For example, where it would start at would be a 2mg Morphine to 1mg Methadone ratio, for someone that was taking less than 30mgs of Morphine, but it can go as high as a 20 to 1 ratio, is someone were taking much higher doses.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

What dosage of Morphine is being converted?

Methadone is 10 times stronger than morphing I was on it for long time hard to get off of but works better and longer

This is a little confusing so let's say you are on 200 mgs of morphine sulfate how much methadone would you need to equal the morphine .

So if the pain clinic is changing my medication from 90mg of m.s. Contin to 15mg of physeptone, (methadone tablets) I will be under medicated? I would appreciate any input you can offer

If you have nerve pain methadone is the best but in most States you have to be a clinic to administer it so most doctors won't give it to you but according to my neurosurgeon it's the best for nerve pain the second fastest morphine stay away from Fentanyl
