How long before suboxone wears off? I have been on a maintenance dose for 2 months. 16mg a day. My last does was thursday of 12mg and today is monday still can't feel the opiates I have been taking since then????? how long before this stuff wears off??

After that many days, it is definitely out of your system. The problem is more than likely due to the fact that you've gone from taking a very strong opiate to much milder ones now, so they aren't having any effect.
Why did you stop taking it?

I stopped the Suboxone because I was very stupid!! I had the urge to get high...after 6 days of eating about 60 oxocodone 5mg. and 10mg. I stopped!! I didn't get high at all!! it just made me want to kill myself!! The only thing that I got out of all that was all the uglyness back..It was pure hell!! Thank God, I am back on Suboxone!! This disease is unbeliveable!! I pray that I don't slip like that again!! and also, I have to go back to the clinic where I get my Suboxone and have a urine test...I hope I didn't mess that up!! I have 7 days to get this crap out of my system!! Thanks for the response and I will stay with the Suboxone!!

Ash if you took just one, then it should be out of your system within about 48 to 72 hours.
That is, if you are not taking it regularly, if you are, it can take longer.
Karen, I do wish you the best of luck. Drug addiction is nightmare and can be very hard to overcome.

I have been taking Sobo's for about 9 months now, everyday,i dont take a whole one everyday,jus ebough to get high off of. I am court ordered to do a prgram, & you have to have 4 clean drug tests! Some people say 3 days, others say more, it all depends how long you've been taking it for & how much! I have to do this program, & i jus dont wanna take the risk of me failing it, and loosin alot of money that i have to pay to do the program! How long does it really take to get out of your system?????

i know for a fact that blood tested with bup will take the lest 10 days if you want to flush out your body take green tea pills and naican and lots of gator or water if you dont mind drinking lots be always remember you can o.d on to much water no bull its happen to me and not fun and i hate to tell people this because iam against abusing because if anyone i have been threw what i have been you would never want to be high again anyways if you guys that are not getting high from bup then you have dug a very deep hole because bup and methadone are the two strongest opiates in the world trust me if anyone want to disagree dont bother because i have been studying bup and well every opiate for three years and even my doc because it dont know nothing about sub all it did was take the 8 hour course to prescribe it doc is rite crooked anyway she even ask me things about it anyway if people still want to get high and sub isnt doing it iam so for real just give up because our brain makes it own morphine type in our brain already like when you stub your toe and it hurts like hell but slowly goes away that our nature way of rectors but like as addicts we filled our nature opaite rector that it just stops and once that happen its all over but people are all different but like for me to feel like a lill bit of a nod i have to taking tons of benzo and a few other central nervous system [BUT PLEASE PEOPLE DONT MIX IT I HAVE KNOWIN ABOUT ALOT OF PEOPLE DYING FROM THIS anyway just try to not be sick and get the hell off of all of them.I am dying from opaite abuse my g.i system is shutting down and iam only 30 with two young kids and a good wife its not worth it once you get to deep then your body just starts shutting down well only 37% but i know its more its all about money doc and well when it boils down to it the gov wanted their hands in junkiest pockets not the dealer

I have been on Subs for 16 months now 7 I had a episode about 6 months ago.I was on 3-8mg tablets a day and was taking my normal dose until the day b-4 I went I only took a half,,,well my drug test come back with NO Subs in it.I want to know how that happened.Did they mix my drug test up with someone elses?

Ive been taking subutex for about 6 months now. pretty much every day i do a quarter or sometimes half of a pill a day. Im on a probation program and they give me drug tests randomly. and i have a feeling today there gonna pop one. They do test for bupe and i know that for a fact. i was wondering If drinking lots of water or anything to mask it in my urine would work. PLEASE ANSWER ASAP. It would be greatly appreciated. Dylan if they are testing for bupe and your using everyday it will be in your system for up to 7 days! Only because your using it everyday! You can try using water and niacin to cover it but I would try a product call azio from Walmart! Its a cranberry pill that cleans urinary track infections and cleans your insides out fast! take like 4-6 pills at once! you will pass or come back inconclusive!

I take 8mg suboxone per day. I needed surgery so I asked my doc how long to stop before hand and he said 24hrs. Well that is bs!! Luckily I was paranoid so I stopped 5 days prior to surgery and compensated with percs until d-day. When I woke up from surgery the pain meds did not work like they should have! 1st of all 8mg of sub is about equal to 80mg morphine and apparently my dr. did not know this. But even after he upped my dose it took yet 10 hours for sweet relief. People it takes several days if not a week for subs to wear off. Especially with daily use long term. Be careful.

I weened down to a qt of suboxeon a day for the past 6 months and it took exactly 14 days to completely leave my system. Everyone says 72 hours but that's if you have taken 1. Although I have weneed down to a very small amount, a qt a day I cannot seem to get off that little bit , when I try to refrain from taking I feel just as terrible as I did when I took 2, 8 MG a day the worst detox ever. Wish I had never started the sub program

I agree it's a struggle I couldn't do cold turkey with subs opiates it's such a HUGE mental screw!!! There are of course the physical symptoms but the mental arks them worse and are and can be worse. Cause you keep thinking I can just take one all this stress and pain will go away. So quitting cold turkey shows huge amount of self control and power within

whatever doctor told u that is either lying, or is not a doctor, hell if thry want to they can test you for bluberries, how do you think they find out what people are allergic to, my doctor has taken me from monthly to weekly appointments, i think because she knows my car just got stolen and its not on the busline, she said its because my metabolites are way lower than my sub intake, basicly im not taking them, which is bs im on ssi i 565 a month and 280 goes to them why would i waste my money on somethin i dont taKE ALWAYS GET A 2nd OPINION ALWAYS, if they would look at my charts my liver is way screwd and my metabolism is iffy at best idk good luck

I took less than a quarter of a suboxone on Monday. I am going to be induced this Monday. So it will be a week to the day. I do not take them everyday. I'm so scared it will be in my system and I'll lose my baby. I didn't know at the time they were going to induce me. Will it be out of mine and the baby's system by then? I am so scared plz answer as soon as u can.

I agree 100% ! Some brains are wired for opiates. If you kicked H cold turkey you did something most people do not have the strength or willpower to do. I don't think I could as I am sure you know it's easier said than done. As for the sub, from what I have learned dropping from 3-8s a day if done slowly is the easy part. Its that tiny portion (literally a half to one quarter of a mg. ) "jumping off" to zero when the problems start. I would google "stopping suboxone" etc. I have read several websites were people keep diaries from day one to months after stopping completely. Slow and gradual is very important to the jump off point, then you have to ride out the storm which is different from one person to the next. An average seems to be 2-3 weeks.Some less some more, How much you took and how long has a lot to do with it. Good Luck ! If you can kick H you can stop sub's I promise you !

sounds like somebody made a mistake. I take 8s twice a day and it takes 4-5 days with no suboxone to even notice because of the extremely long half life of sub. I know with many meds they can actually tell the amount you have been taking. I would not take any chances regardless because I am sure you know even finding a doctor who prescribes sub AND accepts your type insurance can be extremely difficult. I have a very good doctor but he made it clear ONE failed drug screen ADIOS AMIGO. Like I said though if your test showed NO suboxone someone definitely made a mistake somewhere. If he refused to prescribe a refill I would request another test.
