Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine, so it is not something that is tested for on drug tests, if that is what you are worried about.

Interesting that you're getting steroids and the hydroxy is causing a reaction. I use topical steroids and they react to the hydroxy, too, in the form of peeling/redness/dry skin. It's weird because hydroxy is supposed to be good for skin rashes - like eczema.

Atarax is a prescription drug classified as an antihistamine.Although
It is used for many purposes.It is not considered a controlled dangerous substance.Its used regularly because it carries a low potential for abuse.As such this drug is not routinely screened for.If you hold a rx for this drug you have nothing to fear when used as directed. Regards

I took one 25mg of hydroxyzine and woke up a few hours later as if I had slept in an oven and trembling. I've renamed it "the killer pill ". Don't recommend it

I'm a clinical depression patient and i have panic disorder too. I've been taking atarax for sleep due to my insomnia and i took zoloft in the mrng, 25mg each. What my psychiatrist advice is, for the few days when I started to take those pills, yes, it will really make my body lethargic, i can't even cook for my family. It took me almost 2 weeks to get the whole 'new system' with those anti depressant. But it really helps with my depression. Whenever I have panic attack, i have to take atarax of 25mg. Yes, it will knock u down for few days. Trembling and spasms is normal when the atarax is 'flushing' out from the body, try having chamomile or pepermint tea to make yrself calm.

25 milligrams of hydroxyzine for Insomnia with anxiety. I told my shrink that I am NOT taking HER zoloft, that I don't want my head mucked with during the day. SHE can put her zoloft where the sun don't shine. Gonna try ONE hydro. to get some much needed sleep, but if I'm still sleepy at noon, or if I still don't sleep at all, I am getting a GD lawyer. Damn it, I am 50 years old. I know what's best for ME, not some freaking doctor, so sick of them. HAVING WORKED IN HEALTHCARE 30+ YEARS as i have, ya DO TEND TO PICK UP A FEW THINGS. Do no harm, my sweet petutie. MD jerks.

I’m on day three if trying to get it out of my system. I only took 25 mg twice and I’m having racing heart still. It’s been two full days and one morning. Ugh I hope it goes away. Maybe I had underlying heart condition that I didn’t know about... I’m going to check with my doctor.

Literally took 25mg of hydroxyzine around 6:30pm yesterday. Its 7:30pm the following day and im still feeling the sedation. Got a headache and spasms. Dont recommend

My daughter weighs 109 lbs and she took 50 mg of Hydroxyzine. It is prescribed to her as needed. Two hours later she was terribly lethargic, confused and impaired coordination. She ended up in the emergency room. They gave her Normal Saline flush Thursday night. It is Sunday and she is still sleeping and groggy. This drug is absolutely horrible. I am trying to find out how can she get this poison out of her system and come back to some normalcy. Any ideas please let me know.

maggy i had sever pain in the adomen and the doctor put me 5/325 my, I thought it was mostly tynenol,well I was wrong it addicted ox 5mg. I went detox and they gave me bendrytl,visteril ant checking my records ,i have very seriuos side effects at antihistemens. This is the worst i ever felt. I sayin Goodby visteril ,no one should ever go through this feeling,believe it or not they give it to our children.Parents this stuff can kill your babies.

I think this hydroxyzine is the best medicine I've been on because I been on a lot of medicine in the past but I think I just found the right one now. I got it from a psychiatric hospital in Phoenix Arizona called UPC. I will keep you up to date on how it is working. {edited for privacy}
