I was prescribed Gabapentin 3 x daily 300mg for severe right leg pain after back surgery. This is the worst drug ever! I had extreme shortness of breath and reported it to the FDA and my doctor.

No - it is totally the affect of the medicine . I could write you a book on how bad the side effects of those drugs are. Gabapentin was invented yrs ago for epilepsy ! Have had a seizure problem lately ? I am very ANGERY that these drugs are being used for everything!
Propping your feet up at nite on a soft incline pillow could actually help. Not having any weight on your legs but a very lite down comforter or just a sheet . See another kind of Dr.?

I'm on gabapentin and it make drowsy and dizzy, I don't know what to do, bunch of meds you don't know who is affecting who, when taking more than one drug who do you know what is affecting what, all I can is that we need to pray about these matter.

I am sorry it had caused you so much difficult side effects. I started taking it after I was told about it as well as speaking with a doctor and looking up more information on it. I had such severe nerve pain it hurt 24hrs a day, i was unable to walk even a block before the pain made me sit to relax the nerves some times. The pain was like a cord, connecting from behind my right ear to across my shoulder to my fingers, then also where the cord left for my arm it continued down my back through to my toes. On bad days I could turn my head and feel it through my body. After taking this drug i was able to walk again and the pain is gone. The only unenjoyable effect is that if I forget if took it and end up double dosing i feel wasted drunk, i get the spins pretty bad. I have told others about it. Not everyone fits all in the same box. I have had many bad side effects from so many drugs. I'm sorry it didn't work for you.:-(

Most of the time we just don't know what these drugs are doing to us, so many side affects, taking different drugs at the same time we are blessed to be alive, I take gabapentin to and just know how it make feel because I'm taking meds with it, I know that taking all those together you would think that dr would monitor you better, we have to pray for each other, good luck to every one that's taking gabapentin.

Well im still taken gabapentin and I'm beginning to notice my legs are getting weak they took me from 300mg to 400mg I just can't understand it I feel that it's not helping, he said that he can take me as high as 1200mg but I'm not going to let it happen, I'm sick of meds that just me drizzy or sleepy why can't they just get to the root of the problem I feel like they give you meds just to get you off their backs, I hope to that we all can be rid of this med business, I will pray for us.
