If you took even a sliver of a strip during that 11 days to help with wds. then your gonna have to start your count from that day. Its roughly about 12 days but everyone is different. How much subs were you taking when you jumped off? Did you go thru much wd.?

Was on methadone for ten years drs orders and switched to suboxone to get off method. It made me sick at first but stuck with it in hopes of getting off methadone. Was on 2/8mg stripes aday for three months and am now on my 12th day clean. Methadone was more intense but suboxone is almost a, cold hot burning skin restless arms and barely any sleep. Eating well and staying hydrated. I just don't think I ca. Bare anymore. OPlease tell me it doesn't take much longer. I need sleep so bad and to not feel like I want to crawl out of my own skin and wake up with no diarrea.

Ab, After 12 days with no subs you should start feeling a little better each day now. Did you taper slowly? How much were you taking when you jumped off?

Just getting of slow taper from suboxone now. Six yrs going from 16mg to .5. Every step down was bad. But the big steps were not nearly as bad as the low dose. Going from 16 to 8 was a breeze. 8 to 4 was no prob. 4-2 was a bit worse. I always allowed a month between tapers or i couldn't take it. I was taking 90mg Perc per day prior to Sub. The amount of opiats in subs dwarfs Percs. High dose subs will put your tolerance for regular pain Meds thru the roof. Had to have major sholder surgery. Sub doc says just get off sub and switch to Percs. Should b no prob. Yea right. Major detox. Ended up having to take 10mg perks every 4hrs to not loose my mind. My tolerance was shot. Subs way more powerful than Percs. Anyway just finally was tapering from ,5 mg sub to ,25 and was so brutal I decided to just stop all together. It's been 5 days. Pretty bad but now each day seems a little better. Showers, activity, all help. Just laying around suffering was my biggest mistake. Also, after surgery I should have tried a lower dose of sub. Could have saved me a couple of years of tapering.

I think stepping off at 8mg is a fools errand. Long term sub use sucks. But people who think they can take it for a few weeks so they don't have to deal with Perc withdraw are delusional. If your going to do that just detox off the perks and save yourself a lot of pain and heartake. Everybody is different. Subs save families and lives. Turn people from stealing and selling themselves and destroying their lives. So for each their own. You don't want off Subs unless you feel no desire for pain pills and are looking to genially improve your life.
Good luck everyone. My thoughts are with you. Think it thru. If u need Subs try to stay on the lowest dose u are comfortable with. It will save u years if you decide to taper off. I feel like it took away my spirit and drive. I went from making a six figure salary to not being able to do much of anything. Lost all of my passions. Libido. Fishing. Fun activities. All was lost. Really think thru your decisions carefully. Don't let the doc say try this, you feel better? Great, see u next month, repeat, repeat..... I know I'm rambling. I just feel like I know this inside and out now. If I new then what I know now. God bless my great wife for sticking with me through all of this.

Again. Best of luck!!!

I was just browsing around on the internet and came across your post. A lot of what u said rang true to me so I felt like replying. I am on 8mg subs a day since July and 2 visits ago I told my dr. I was ready to drop to 6mg thinking he'd b excited and proud of me but nope he said "let's keep you at 8" and just like u said its on repeat. You also said something that got me thinking....."don't start tapering until you have no longer have a desire to use". Well I do have a small desire to use but in 8 months I will not b able to afford the medication anymore and that's why I want to taper so I won't feel the horrible withdrawl. I just don't know what to do. Thanks for reading

I took my last suboxone on March 17th 2015, I didn't feel withdrawls until 8 days later, I thought it would subside at Max 2 weeks, well it is May 6 and I still have restless legs and no energy, but I refuse to go back seeing as its been almost 2 months and it's only going to get better, it can't possibly get worse. I hope you are doing ok.

I take morphine on a daily basis, pink 60mg pills, sometimes the blue 100mg ones, and i'd love to see the green 200s above all. Though I am not proud of my marriage to her, she (morphine), is one much-loved wife. Enough said, the days come around (too often). When withdrawal comes hard, that's when i go get the strips. I take a half early morning, and it helps alot. Depending on my "being pill sickness," determines the need for the other half, or to save it for later. EITHER WAY, FOR ME IT'S 36 HOURS "BEFORE" I CAN FEEL THE MORPHINE-OF ANY STRENGTH.....36 HOURS

It will get better. Took me 2-3 weeks when I transfered from methodone to suboxone. It was rough at first but it does get better. I feel better now than I did with methodone! Hang in there!
