How Do I Get My Dr To Prescribe Me Muscle Relaxers

I need help in getting prescribed muscle relaxers. I dont wanna seem like a DRUG ADDICT... BECAUSE I'M NOT!! But, how do i get my dr to give me what i need???.. I've been in pain for quite some time and my body just isnt the same as it used to be.... I dont want to list all the drugs that i HAVE BEEN taking... but, i just need something (on going) so that, i can get back to my normal life. Any ideas???

Almost anything you do, if you suffer chronic pain, is viewed as drug seeking behavior. Going to multiple doctors in an attempt to get help? Yeah, you're a drug seeker. Asking for a higher dose? Drug seeker. Hoarding? Drug seeker. Questions or complaints about random drug panel policies? Drug seeker. Past history of recreational drug use? You're a drug seeker.

I’ve been a chronic pain patient since 1997 & unfortunately Soma is the only thing that helps me for a muscle relaxant. There is Flexeral & a few others but didn’t work on me. However, my doctor implanted a pain pump in my lower left side of my abdomen. He fills it with several different meds that is formulated just for me. They are ordered it ahead of time. The pump has a line that runs up to my T10 of my vertebrae. This has helped to reduce the amount of meds I was taking. I’ve have stenosis, spondylitis & DDD in my back. However, I still take Soma for breakthrough pain. I haven’t found any other medicine that helped for the breakthrough pain. The only way would be to pay cash for them. I’m so sorry, your insurance company denied it. Maybe if your doctor insists you take Soma or the generic brand rather than getting other drugs that would cost the more in the long run. For me, it goes through Workers Comp & so far I haven’t had a problem. But they had reduced the number of pills I get. Also, it’s cheaper than approving a disc replacement I need.

Even if u are completely and totally honest to a fault with severe chronic pain they look at u like ur a drug seeker. Take aspirin products for years till ur stomach cant tolerate them. Then say i cant take aspirin products. Im a drug seeker. It should be against the law for a dr to just let u suffer. Since when did Anesthesiologist know more than a neurosurgeon? What a joke!
