I know that generic Norco is weak. How can I get the real ' name brand' meds?

If you're paying cash, you can just tell the pharmacy that you want the name brand only.

However, if you have insurance, your doctor will need to write the prescription as 'brand medically necessary', or whatever the equivalent is in your state.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, not all generics are problematic.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I have already asked Costco and the hospital pharmacy for name brand, and they say they don't have the code to order name brand for narcotics. They say everyone uses generic.
Why is this so? Do I have to go to smaller pharmacys to get these?
What do you know?
