I'm trying to stop using persivate ointment after twenty years. Now I'm developing rashes that is unbareble. What can I use to stop this

Hii I have using persivate ointment for a long time now.If i can jump one day without it i am developing rush all over my face and i got rush around my mouth my face is always intching and i put it everyday at night now am tired dont know what to do what ever i try to put in my face in the morning it intches

Hello Bob,

If you're having extreme rashes you should go to a doctor, there are medicines available that they can prescribe you to help transition you through this. There are some remedies that you can try from home if you can't see a doctor any time soon. I'll list them below.

- Reportedly applying a small amount of olive oil mixed with honey can help promote healthy skin and help treat rashes. You should not leave this mixture on the rash for very long as it could further the irritation if you do so.

- Applying 3 parts water to 1 parts baking soda to the affected area can dry the skin out and help heal the rash by relieving itching and inflammation.

- Aloe Vera has been known to help reduce irritated skin and promote healthy skin.

- Use a cotton ball to dab apple cider vinegar on the rash. The apple cider vinegar helps counter the infection causing the rash.

Hopefully one of these provides some slight comfort. If all else fails try to use a cold compress to relieve the itching until you can see a doctor. Good luck.

Hey Sir I once had rash on my face then I went to the Pharmacy they gave me persivate ointment and I only used it for 3 days the rash was gone but after I stopped using it my face is worse I have pimples, rash, dark spots please help here what can I use to get back to my normal skin? (so stressed)
