I was taking Glycomet SR 1 gm 1 tab daily with result that my blood sugar remained - fasting 80-90 and PP 130-140. But for last few months I am taking 2 tab per day and the blood sugar is not comming down from 115 fasting and PP 145-150. Whether I have become immune to the drug?

IT is possible, but no one can really say, without knowing your medical history as well as your diet habits.

Even if you are taking a medication like this, it still doesn't mean you can just eat whatever you want and expect it to lower your blood sugar to normal.

You still have to follow a low-fat, low-sugar diet to help control your sugar levels.

Are you doing this?

I'm asking, because you don't actually become immune to a drug, you build up a tolerance to it and raising the dosage usually helps with that.

Refer to my earlier posting on Glycomet SR 1gm. Thanks for the reply. However I wish to inform you that I am keeping the same diet pattern with same life style rather become more strict as my sugar level is not comming as earlier despite doubleing the dose. If as said I my body has developed resistance to the drug what should I do. My doctor says it is within limits therefore no problem to him. The activity of pancrias decreases @ 10% every year. What should I take for a month or so to give a break to the drug.

I am 70, using Glycomet GP1 from April,2011,
resulting BP rise from 80-130 to 90-160. Sugar
levels are under control. When I consulted Dr.
I am asked to increase the dose of Arkamin 0.1
mg from twice to thrice a day. Yet BP not come
to normal. Again I met Dr. He said to discontinue
Glycomet GP1 and go for Glycomet G1, But
there is no such Glycomet G1. It may perhaps
Glycomet 1gm or Glycomet Sr 1 gm as I see in
Net. Will it be fair to advise the Doctor ? or shall I
use Glycomet 1 Gm. Please advise me.
