Glycomet contains the active ingredient Metformin, it is an oral antidiabetic medication that is used to help control blood sugar.

The basic point that I think your doctor is trying to make is that there is no cure for diabetes and you will probably have to be on a medication to help control it, for the rest of your life.

And yes, there are always long-term risks to your body and health when you have to use a medication for a long time.

You could end up with organ damage, though it is not very common.

As to these diseases creating problems when you conceive children, yes, that can also be an issue. You may have some difficulty getting pregnant, because of the PCOS and if you do get pregnant, your diabetes will have to be closely monitored by your doctor.

I have incidentally visited this forum.
For all the people who suffer from diabetis I give a simple medicine which I saw to dramatically work.
Take in empty stomach everyday morning one table spoon of methi seeds (Vendayam in Tamil) and swallow with water.
Take plenty of water (about 4 litres per day).
Do not worry, as worrying increases sugar.
Check after 15 days to see a drop in sugar levels.
