Generic Oxycontin Australia

Does anyone know when Sandoz or apotex will be realising generic oxycontin in Australia? Any feedback would be much appreciated

Checkout chemist warehouse web inventory they have sandoz, it's says oxycodone not oxycontin tho... Are they the ssme? Same strengths tho. Anyone know?

Sandoz has released a generic version of oxycontin in Australia and is now on pharmacy shelves check with your pharmacy as to what its called however if you have a script for oxycontin as with all drugs you should automatically be asked if you would prefer the generic version

Oxycodone is an IR form where as oxycontin is a modafield or controlled realease form of oxycodone so obviously they are going to be different strengths. A 20mg oxycontin tablet is designed to release its active ingredient oxycodone over a 12 hr period whereas a 20 mg IR Oxy has a pain management period of around 4-6 hrs hence the tamper free significantly abuse reduced MR tablet being compounded, The IR usually come in capsules or liquid.
