My Rotti/shep bitch is 13yrs old. She's been on glycoflex for years now.She just started to favor a rear leg.The vet found that she is starting to have pain,so she gave me some sample bottles of deramaxx to try.I asked how much when samples used up & was told $112.xx for 30tabs! I'm 64yrs & unemployed. No way can I afford that.I did find the generic name is deracoxib(not sure of cost yet).My old holistic med book(Rodale Press-written by a vet) recommends alfalfa,2-6 tabs daily, depends on dog size. Alfalfa works on my arthritis pain(in my fingers) so I'll try it on my old girl.

After running a few Google searches, I haven't been able to find any generics for Deramaxx. I definitely believe in using natural methods of healing for humans and animals. Maybe you can give alfalfa a shot, like Shargoti recommended! In addition, I'll post a link to an article with information about different herbal pain remedies you can try! I've heard lots of great things about essential oils healing animals as well as humans. I hope you give it a shot!

Good luck to you and your dog!
