Gabepentin And Memory Loss

I took Lyrica for several years but quit taking it and switched to gabapentin which I took for several years. I took 300 mg x 3 daily and I have no short term memory and I can't think of the words I mean to say. I also took morphine and hydrocodone so I don't know which drug caused the memory loss. I now am off the opiates but take 100 mg gabapentin x2 daily for anxiety

Both Lyrica and gabapentin are known for memory loss. Been on pain meds for years, but never had memory issues with them. Type in both Lyrica and gabapentin. You'll find you are far from alone. God bless.

That is correct, Gabapentin is known to cause memory loss as a long-term side effect, according to pre-approval studies, and real world use reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes, and blurred vision.

How long ago did you lower your dosage? Is that the only medication you are currently taking?

My board certified Internal Medicine doctor says both Lyrica (Pregabalin) and Neurontin (Gabapentin) are both BAD drugs! My board certified pain management doctor won't prescribe them either because of patients complaints and the evidence is showing that these companies have been hiding consumer complaints for years! Basically the way they work to interrupt the chemical firing of pain perception is the same type of chemical response that happens when you store or recall memories. It's just a matter of time before the class action law suits go after these companies that make these harmful drugs!
