Filling Adderall From Two Different Doctors

My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD & hypothyroidism about 5 years ago & is on Adderall & Synthroid. She suffers from weight gain & fatigue. She has no energy what so ever & the fatigue is on a daily basis. Long story short, she has been getting adderall scripts from two different doctors. On Friday she accidentally dropped off the wrong script at the pharmacy. They told her they couldn't fill it so she went back and they gave her the script back. Today she dropped off the correct script and they were suppose to send a text message when it was ready for pick up. A few hours went by so she called the pharmacy & said "Hi, my name is John Doe & I was wondering if my script was ready for pick up?" The Pharmacist said "no, I don't have anything" & my daughter said "I dropped off a script for Adderall a couple hours ago and I needed a refill on my Synthroid as well. The Pharmacist says "I'm waiting on the doctors office to call me back. She was short with me. My daughter asked her if there was a problem & she said that she had a note left this morning to call and verify that it was ok to fill it. Please give me some advise on what to do. I don't need my granddaughter to witness her mom going to jail tonight. I'm beside myself.

I am very sorry about what happened. Has anyone taken any action against her or anything? Did they finally fill one for her?

The simple fact of the matter is that this is a controlled substance and doubling up like that is considered fraudulent, under law by the DEA.

Best case scenario, they just refuse to fill them for her and her doctor refuses to continue prescribing. These prescriptions are logged in a government database, so I'm sure both doctors have been informed by now and your daughter may be under investigation, but it's hard to guess what action they may take.

I hate to think of her going to jail, when she has a young child, but the only advice I can really give is that she may do better consulting a lawyer for assistance. Many offer free consultations.

Does anyone else have any advice to offer?

Are you kidding me? This is called, DOCTOR SHOPPING!!! It's one of the main reasons the Prescription Monitoring Programs exist! Google "Doctor Shopping"

I'm sorry "you" are going through this. But believe me on this, your daughter knows it is wrong to go to two different doctors to get any controlled substance. That is called deception to contain a dangerous drug. That is a felony. I agree with the last comment. She needs to seek an attorney immediately. She could go to jail for this. And shame on your daughter. It's people like her that make it hard for people like us that are doing it the right way. I'm sorry I was so hard on you. But it is what it is. She knew it was wrong. You need to talk to your daughter about this and ask her to be honest with you. Because she will tell you eventually she knew she was doing wrong. Your daughter needs to be honest with both of her doctors. Maybe they will take Mercy on her and not push the issue. Because if she doesn't the two doctors and the pharmacist will press charges on her. This is very serious. The new drug laws have changed big time. And she knows this. So sorry this happened. But like I said this is why it's hard for people that do it the right way to get their medication is because of people that do it illegal and try to beat the system!! you pretty much can't beat the system any longer. There's always a paper trail.

Hi all~
This just pisses me off to no end. This is Doctor shopping. You will get caught!! everything comes to an end. This makes me so mad because there are people like me that do it by the book. We don't doctor shop. We do what they say to do. Grow up and stop this crap. It makes people like you make people like us suffer, and I'm in chronic pain and I don't like to suffer. Please STOP because if you don't you will go to prison.
