Fentanyl Patch Withdrawals Day 9

After my patches were taken on a beach trip mith several families, I am currently on day 9 ofwithdrawals. Exhaustion, calves spasming are bad,but the chills almost seen worse and unbearable at times. Had major back surgery in November and was treated for pain using the patches for nearly 2 years.

I've been through opiate withdrawal oncebefore, but this is nearly debilitating. I've not slept in days.

What types of symptoms are you experiencing?

The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fever, chills, diarrhea, anxiety and rebound pain.

Day 12 now...
Chills
Insomnia
Calves vibrating

Yes on police report, but doctor said he did not have to...and didnt. I'm this far in now...if chills and insomnia will cease...I think I'll try to deal with the pain. Just not sure how much longer. 2.5 years on 50mcg.

It took me close to a month to get through my withdrawals from Fentanyl patch. I had many experiences taking opiods since I had Luekemia in 95 and a bone marrow transplant in 96. The withdrawal from fentanyl is the only time I experienced symptoms like these. Anyone being taken off fentanyl should be in a hospital setting. It is now 7 months I have never got back to being the same as I was before this experience. God's blessing to you!

Sonian, glad the long month is over and you are starting to feel better. I was two weeks into getting off the fentanyl. Doctor told me 1 week at most. I could not work and couldn't stay out any longer. I went back to the fentanyl. I wasn't sleeping at all and emotionally I was a wreck. Congratulations!

I am trying to withdraw from my matrifen patch 12 micrograms every 72 hours, but I have not slept for six nights due to crawling sensations all over my body and hot and cold sweats. I cannot sit still. It's been nine days since I changed the patch. I have Gabapentin which the doctor said to take but they don't seem to be doing any good. Do you have any ideas? I really want off this patch but have been so tempted to go back and I really don't want to. {edited for privacy}.
