Hello, Gena! How are you?

For it to be effective immediately, it should have been started the first or second day that you say any bleeding. If you started it the third day or later, then you'll need to take it for a full 7 days, before it will become effective at preventing pregnancy. That means a backup form of contraception must be used for the first 7 days, you will be protected on the 8th day.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I recently had a baby boy and started taking femiane after my 6 week visit even though my period had not started. I'm on my last pill now, do I continue with another pack or do I wait 7 days because the period still is not on.

I usually use YASMIN but switching to FEMIANE now. do I leave a 7 day gap or no gap. can i continue as normal? or not? My last Yasmin pill was Friday 5th and I should restart on this Saturday the 13th, can I take it Saturday as normal or start taking it now? as today, Monday 8th, is my 1st day of period and 3rd day off the pill.
