False Positive For Lorazepam

I came out positive for lorazepam on a urine test at the methadone clinic. The only things i've taken were ambien, theraflu, sudafed, and some other over the counter medications. Will that give me a positive for lorazepam?

Do you mean you tested positive for 'benzodiazepines' rather than, specifically, 'lorazepam' (which is Ativan by brand name)??

Typically complience check randomized drug tests, like the kind you would receive at a clinic for methadone will test for main groups of drugs, not individual ones, unless they are sent to a lab for more specific testing (which methadone clinics do not routinely do as it would cost way more money than itd be worth for them to do this). So lorazepam belongs to the drug family classified as benzodiazepines (clonazepam or klonopin, Valium, as well as hefty anesthesia meds like morazolam -- might have the spelling wrong there). Ambien, although used for sleep disorders, rather than as an anti-anxiolytic for panic attacks we more commonly associate as being classified as benzo, is in fact a member of the benzodiazepine classifation of drugs. So you would call all these individual names as the 'children' and benzodiazepine is the 'parent' drug (metabolite excreted).
