False Positive Drug Tests For Fentanyl

I'm currently taking Trazodone for sleep. I am also involved in a outpatient drug program that uses Zubsolv rather than Suboxone. My last three drug screens have come back positive for fentanyl which I have never used even during my addiction. My question is, is it possible that the Trazodone would cause my urine screens to come up positive for the fentanyl?

I AM ON A SUBOXONE PROGRAM AND EVERYTIME I DO A URINE TEST IT COMES BACK POSTIVE FOR FENTANYL AND I HAVE NEVER TAKEN FENTANYL OR ANY DRUG LIKE IT, I HAVE HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT FENTANYL AND TRAZODONE AND I DO TAKE TRAZODONE FOR SLEEPING IS THIS WHY I AM TESTING POSITIVE FOR FENTANYL, I AM GOING CRAZY BECAUSE I HAVE LOOKED EVERY WHERE AND CAN'T FIND ANY REASON WHY IT'S THERE, PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT.

Hi Bonita, I know this will sound strange and I apologize, but I'm glad I found someone else with the same problem. What I've done is to call a few of the pharmaceutical companies that manufacture Trazodone and gave them a list of the medications I take on a regular basis and they've all come back and said that they cannot find any reason as to why any of my medications would result in a positive test result for Fentanyl. I've talked to my pharmacist about it and he has also talked to the drug reps that supply his store and they've said the same thing that they couldn't find a reason for the false positive for Fentanyl. Three of my urine tests had come back positive for Fentanyl and my doctor was gracious enough to send for a confirmation test, which is basically a more in depth drug screen, and the confirmation test came back being negative. Now surprisingly my last urine test at the beginning of March, came back as being negative for Fentanyl. The only thing anyone can seem to come up with is that the lab that screens my urine might have used a different re-agent(I think that's what it's called) which might have caused the false positive

I failed a urine screen for fentanyl and i know i didn't take any. I'm on subutex and curious if the test could show positive for fentanyl because of the subs. Could someone plz help me. I went to jail for 19 days over this. I don't want it to happen again

I currently take trazadone also, and I have never failed a drug test for anything bc of it.

I know that if you smoke or consume street marijuana that it can show up (unknown to you) pos for fentanyl because its being laced with fentanyl i guess. My doctor tested a sample of marijuana and it came back positive for fenanyl. So if you smoke be careful. It has also showed up continually on my weekly urine tests which they send out to a lab. And for many weeks. It's rather odd to be honest and very annoying.

My daughter is currently taken trazidone and naltrexone and her urine test came up positive for feytnal? I'm confused ? Can anyone please tell me if the 2 meds she is taking would make her get a false positive test.

Hi i tested positive for fentanyl too .. Im on methadone..and I asked. For a urine come to know it came out positive and i hadn't done no street drugs at all..I was like if i was to do anything it would've came back positive for everything not fentanyl..How would I ask for a drug screen for DCF if I knew i was dirty.??ans no one can answer why??

I too go to Methadone clinic n i am on probation. I also was recently hospitalized for mental health issues. I was admitted on Thurs 5/18n released on mon 5/22 n been clean since. I was took urine screen for court on wed 5/24. On Thursday 5/25 my po said there was fentanyl n my drug screen. My counselor, the nurses, the doc at clinic everyone says fentanyl wouldn't be in my system that long cuz i did relapse the morning i was admitted into hospital. I used herion but thought maybe fentanyl was in there. I admitted myself n got all my meds straightened out n have felt great, best i have felt in years, like my old self. N i swear i have been clean. I have always admitted if i had messed up but this time i am clean n its killing me that i was positive for fentanyl when i haven"t done anything! Currently i am taking cymbalta, gabapentin, sonata, Methadone, prazosin, omeperozal, hydrochlorothiazide (blood pressure). Please if anyone has any info or suggestions where i can find out what is causing this false positive i have court monday n i am doing urinre screens today n sat. Also i did last sat but i wont get my results until i walk into court mon. This is causing me a ton of anxiety cuz i don't want to get locked up for something i didn't do. I am trying my very hardest to turn it over to my high power, n have faith that it will work itself out if i continue to keep doing the right thing, but honestly i am struggling w that. So if anyone has any recommendations plez let me know.

I take trazadone, celexa,seroqiel,and clonidine my test came back positive for fentanyl don't know the cause I do not take anything else at all was in rehab they kicked me out pending lab results what causes this...

I don't take anything but methadone and over the counter meds. And i haven't dosed in over 50 days but every time i do a urine screen for my po it comes back with fentanyl. I am facing time in jail and i don't wanna go for something i didn't do. Good luck to you.

Yes I'm also in a outpatient drug program 3× a week and I test positive for this and I take trazadone 1× daily at night

I continue to come back positive for fentanyl from one place that tests me and the other every other time it's possitive, I do take methodone but nothing else anyone have any ideas

I have been taking urine tests for a year now. I go into take a urine on Friday and this lady told me I tested positive for Fentanyl which I’ve never even taken. I took a urine last week and it was negative. So why am I testing positive for a drug I’ve never even used? I take gabapentin, seroquel, buspirone and sometimes rizatripton if that’s how u spell it. I’m wondering why I tested for this drug and I’ve never even taking it? I take an I-cup urine test and didn’t test positive for anything else but that drug. I’m in shock. I know I didn’t take anything I wasn’t supposed to! I’m about to graduate, why would I mess up now? I haven’t messed up the whole year I’ve been in drug court. They used the dip stick tests and somebody told me it wasn’t me, it is prob their re-agent. Please help. I know I’m good, but just want to know why this happened? I’m confused.

I take trazadone, amatriptaline, soboxone and buspar. Tonight I was drug tested at my sober living house and the dip stick came back positive for fentanyl. I’ve never taking it before in my life. Luckily they believe me somewhat and are going to send it in to the lab but I’m freaking out. If it comes back positive somehow I’ll get kicked out and go back to jail.

It would be way to expensive to lace weed with fentanyl. This sounds like health class propaganda. Take it from a reformed dealer and trafficker of many drugs.

I'm having the same problem. I took a urine test and it came back postive for fentanyl. I didnt even know what fentanyl was. Now im going crazy trying to find out how its in my urine.

I take lots of medication:

Labetalol, aspirin, Jaumet, Meclizine, crestor, furosemide, Ambien, nexium, lantus, Endocet, senna, enalapril.

Please tell me why fentanyl is showing up in my urine if I'm not taking it? Please help me.
