False Positive Benzos Yet Nothing For Opioids
UpdatedI went into the hospital for cervical surgery last month and they gave me Zofran and I stopped breathing. I regularly take methadone and gabapentin for chronic pain. I dont take any OTC meds or anything else that would test positive for this. Just the usual cholesterol and B/P meds and albuterol for breathing. The hospital is trying to say I abuse my medications and thats why my heart stopped. They gave me two doses of Narcan AND put me on oxygen. They are crediting my revival to the Narcan not the oxygen. I also have COPD and poycythemia, either of which could have caused me to stop breathing with the Zofran. The hospital ran a urine drug test on me. (they must have cathed me while I was unconscious because I never gave them a urine specimen and thats what the reports claim they used. Anyways the reports have me positive for benzos but negative for the methadone and all other drugs. HOW could that be??? If I was abusing drugs wouldnt something have shown on the results other than benzos? Im considering getting an attorney and suing the hospital for maltreatment and violating my Hippa with the gabby nurse. One of the nurses told everyone she could stop in the hallway and elevator I died because I abuse drugs. She got that idea from the fact that I take methadone for pain. I never did get the neck surgery. I read up on things that could cause a false positive and it said that an anti nausea medication could do it. Could Zofran be responsible for the false positive on the benzo column? Im not even sure the urine was mine to tell the truth. There are a lot of inconsistencies in the medical report where I can see they outright lied about my vitals and stats. They mention that I ambulated on my own, when I did not. The said I was not on oxygen, which I was right up until the minute I checked out. They falsified my b/p and pulse ox stats for the report and I can prove it because even on oxygen my pulse ox cant go over 92 and they showed me at 98. And they did the same with my body temp which has run 97.1 my whole life and they listed me as 98.6. And while these might be normal stats for others they arent for me. They bumped up their results to make me look good so they could send me home, but those werent my results.
