Drug Test For Lyrica

Updated

I took 800mg of lyrica on a sunday. Then I had a drug test that Monday morning and it came back that I failed for suboxone! For pete's sake can anyone tell me why this happened?? Does anyone know if lyrica and suboxone have any charteristics?? I'm in so much trouble. Well not really I guess but, I really don't understand why this happened!!!!!

I take Lyrica also and tested positive for Buprenorphine or suboxone. I am so disgusted by this outcome because I have NEVER taken suboxone. I contacted the maker of Lyrica, Pfizer and referenced some of the posts here. I was on the phone with Pfizer for an hour and a half providing them details about my medications. They will be testing Lyrica to see why this is happening. They asked if I had names or contacts for others affected but I don't. {edited for privacy}. My doctor says I've broken the contract when in fact I have not!

After speaking with Pfizer the maker of Lyrica they informed me that Lyrica can cause false positives for opiates. My doctor had to call Pfizer to obtain this information. Unfortunately my doctor discharged me since my research proved them wrong and I had contacted the media for assistance. Hope this helps the next victim.

Subutex is Suboxone without the opiate blocker... I'm pretty sure that you will pop for opiates using Subutex

I am in a rehab home for court and have been taking lyrica and reading on here. I need to know if lyrica does or does not show up on tests? Please tell me something. Thanks.

It does show up and can sometimes cause false positives for opiates. That's what happened to me. My doctor didn't believe me but Pfizer confirmed it. Good luck!

Peacebrg,

I'm sure you discovered the hard way trying to contest a false positive is an excercise in futility. If a doctor is convinced of something even black and white proof will not alter their opinions. Its that whole God complex they are trained to believe they are. It's disgraceful I work with folks who contest the results and findings and very few are ever truly successful. Finding legal representation for litigation is next to impossible.

DiamondDay

After many hours and days of research I finally received a letter from the doctor discharging me. In my frustration I threatened to contact the media which resulted in my discharge. I have reached out to an attorney. I have been unsuccessful in finding a new doctor to treat me because I have been transparent about my situation. Still searching for someone who will listen.

Can i take lyrica today and pass a drug test tomorrow? I need to pass but will that mess up my urine drug test?

I don't think you'll pass. My experience with Lyrica showed up as suboxone. I say don't do it unless you're prescribed.

Your posting makes no sense to me I undetstand you tested postive for suboxone but you are on subutex. They are the same thing on a drug screening. So not quite sure on how you are linking to lyrica and suboxone or subutex to lyrica

I took Lyrica 1 day ago and I immediately felt that something was wrong. My pupils were so small, I had opioid eyes. I took “Lyrica 300mg Signature” Red and white. I took 2000mg because they didn’t give me the Lyrica feeling but eventually I felt that I was on opioids and Lyrica at the same time.
