Verwon Says:

Doxycycline is a member of the Tetracycline antibiotics group and is used to treat many types of infections.

Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and skin rash.

You can read more about this medication here:

As to your sun question, the reason for that is some medications make your body, including your skin, more sensitive to sun exposure, so you may get sunburn much faster than usual, or heat stroke.

Anything else I can help you with?

My husband is currently on Doxycycl HYC 100MG 2x daily, for 10 days. He works outside and has sunburn on his arms, hands, and face. Saturday, July 2, will be his last dose. When he comes in from work he applies Aloe Vera, which is kept in the refrigerator, to his skin. Is there anything else he can do for this, and will he be okay? He said his skin burns while in the sun. Due to the holiday he will be off Fri., and not return to work until Tues. Will this be long enough for the med to get out of his system?
