Doxycycl For Swollen Cheek Due To Tooth Infection

wondering if i can use 100 mg doxycycl to reduce swelling from toothache infection? cheek swollen but no money to see dentist at present

Doxycycline is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections, but trying to self-treat an infection in such a manner could create several problems.

First of all, if these are leftover antibiotics from treating another infection, you may not have enough to fully eradicate the infection.

Next is the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, if that is the case.

And another is the fact that is will not clear up the underlying issue that caused the infection, which means it will just keep returning and causing more problems. You do need to see your dentist as soon as possible.
