I have been taking digoxin since January '14. Now I have a skin infection and have been prescribed Doxycycl Hycl 100mg tabs and have heard that there may be a negative interaction.

Hello, Fastjack! How are you?

Yes, that is correct. The Doxycycline can cause an increase in Digoxin levels, which has the potential to be dangerous.

In this case, It would most likely be best to speak to your doctor about taking a different antibiotic.

Antibiotic side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

Is there anything else I can help with?
