I have sa sore throat and am coughing up green colored mucus . my bottle has 40 tablets of penicilina-v 8000,000 u, what is the dosage per day & how long do I take it?

Hi kate,

The usual adult dose for upper respiratory tract infections are listed below:

Mild streptococcal infection: Penicillin V potassium 250 to 500 mg orally every 6 to 8 hours for 10 days

Pneumococcal empyema: Penicillin G 5 to 24 million units/day IV in divided doses every 4 to 6 hours
