I am a 44 year old lady and prescribed gemcal by my dr. I had my menopause at 37 yrs. Got my BMD test done and the report said that all my bones were fine except my left hand joint. But there is pain in my right knee. My feet ache a lot if I stand for a long time or walk for a long time.. However after I started taking gemcal, I feel pain is much better. If I miss gemcal for one or two days, the pain comes back again. So I was wondering if gemcal also acts as a pain killer or in other words does gemcal have any ingredient which reduces pain? Plz enlighten me regarding this.

No, it doesn't, it is solely a nutritional supplement that contains zinc, a form of calcium and vitamin D. The U.S. FDA does warn that it can sometimes cause constipation, as a side effect.

Are you on any other medications?

37 is very early to experience full menopause. Have you been taking any medications for that?
