I have had a usion n my neck n 1992, and the disk below and above the fusion are destroyed; plus have reoccuring migraines coupled with a reoccuring Brain menengioma. I despetately need help

With all the changes in laws ect. It is very hard to find a PM Dr. that will prescribe what works best for your pain. Yeah I can google and find PM Dr's in my area however every time I go to do this after getting a federal from my primary Dr. they insist injections into my spinal cord works 98% of the time and it takes time you get three sessions of these injections then tell them that you are no better and they insist it should and refuse to prescribe narcotics.
I have had multiple car accidents with 80% being rear ended a tractor trailer accident and the latest was a bad motorcycle accident! I have digenerative disc deasease, several concusions, Broken Femor that has a titanium shaft in it from my knee to my hip, a shattered knee 45% left that has several pins and wire to hold it together to allow it to heal, C-4, C-5 & C-6 are bulging C-7 is ruptured and have nerve damage pain in my neck that shoots down my left arm my hand feels like it's asleep (a bunch of needles) terrible head aches / migraines & very hard to get out of bed in the morning.
I currently have a primary that prescribes 10 mg oxycodone which helps if I take 4-6 at one time!
This does not get me high, it allows me to get out of bed in the morning and with more through the day allows me function through out the day.

How do I find the right PM Dr that will prescribe what I need that will not give me the run around, I've already had my three injection that are allowed yearly and been through therapy.
Please help, what is it that I need to say to the PM Dr to help me with the right thing.
It is very exhausting going to a PM Dr then to find out bthey can't help me.
I am near the Kansas City, MO greater area you would think there would be some PM Dr that would help me???

Any and all advice will be very much greatly appreciated!!!

K, I know how you feel. My plan was to substitute teach when my daughter started school full time and then start teaching full time (you need to sub first to get a ft position). This is my 3rd year on the sub list. I worked a total of 12 and a half days the first 2 years and none this school year. I can't make money and I can't fulfill my dream all because I'm underprescribed. Studies have shown that those who truly need pain meds don't get high from them when used as prescribed. They are also very unlikely to be addicted to them when they are no longer needed. The DEA seems to be willfully ignorant when if comes to this, and we suffer for it!

Consider yourself lucky Clare. It's better to have a script you don't need, than to need a script you don't have. I'm across the country in NJ so I don't think the Doc Feelgood your friend told you about will help me much.I'm happy for you though.

I'm gona lose my job bcause of this bs I can't do my job without my meds. What gets me sick is these lowlives have unlimited supply. Or the people on disability who sit home n get paid for itfree housing I'm sure their drs aren't denying them.

THAT IS WHY PEOPLE THAT ARE IN LEGITIMATE PAIN NEED TO KEEP FIGHTING. THERE IS NO REASON THIS IS HAPPENING. IF SOMEONE HAS ANY OTHER HEALTH CONCERN AND THERE IS A MEDICINE OUT THERE TO FIX IT - THEY ARE PRESCRIBED THAT MEDICINE. TELL ME, IF THAT PERSON WERE TAKEN OFF THE MEDICATION WOULD THE CONDITION WORSEN? SURE IT WOULD! WOULD IT SEEM LIKE THEY WERE IN WITHDRAW? SURE IT WOULD! BUT THE MEDICINE IS STILL PRESCRIBED. I AM SO SICK OF THE WORD ADDICTION! I JUST READ THAT A PATIENT IS NOT ADDICTED IF HE/SHE LEGITMATELY NEEDS THE MEDICATION. IT'S ONLY REASON. KEEP FIGHTING. EVENTUALLY SOMETHING WILL TURN AROUND. MAYBE SOMEBODY NEEDS SUED? IF A DIABETIC WERE KEPT FROM THEIR MEDICATION - WHAT WOULD HAPPEN? WHAT ABOUT A HEART PATIENT? I WISH SOMEONE WOULD WALK A DAY IN THE LIFE OF SOMEONE WITH CHRONIC PAIN AND TELL ME IF MEDICATION SHOULD BE KEPT FROM THEM? MEDICATION THAT HELPS THEM LIVE A FUNCTIONING LIFE. A PATIENT WITHOUT ANY ABUSE HISTORY. NO WRONGFUL TAKING OF THE MEDS, ETC.... JUST A HISTORY OF DESTROYED KNEES - BACK - NECK AND FIBRO. NEEDED TO VENT.

That is really strange that you can't get the meds you need. I wonder why that is. I know what you are saying about them not returning your calls, So many doctors are so mean. It's like they have the power right in their hand with that pad. So many people have such a hard time, and the proof that they have chonic pain is right there on the MRI makes no sense

Darn it!!! I was hoping for good news for a name in my area or some digits/site for me. I have been searching for almost 2 months. My doc is tight. I take less than 20mg Vic a day just to take the edge off the arthritis and fibromyalgia from friends with a few extra. I am not doing this for thrills or looking to get anything more.

I am still waiting for someone to help me in this discussion group too. I am in VA and haven't heard a word of who or where, here nor there to help me. Tried a link someone posted but I didn't see any good reviews so I opted not to try it. But I have got to get some relief. I have tried every protocol my PCP has given me and went to a referral plus another in my network. Everyone is holding back from helping. I even called my PCP to let her know of my visits on Jan 13th. She is yet to call me back. Does anyone have any answers? Please

I am looking for a new d.r. in indiana prefereably around indianapolis area. I live in bloomington. I have been in pain managment for 7 plus years for many different reasons, Anything would help the doc i found now has me on 10mg percocet 4 times a day and its not cuting it. i was use to quite a bit more so any help would be appreciated. thanks
