Doctor Who Will Prescribe Medication In Bay Area Ca

I have chronic lower back pain and shoulder pain. I have an 8month old girl (not breast feeding) and a 2.5 year old boy. My pain is dibilitating and I have trouble lifting and taking care of them. I've tried everything heat/ice therapy and meds. Vicodin or Norco are the two pain meds that seem to work for me and I am able to perform my daily duties with much less pain. I do not want anything stronger than them. I have not found a regular doctor to just give me a refillable prescription with out going to the ER. It's really tough for me to get around with the two kids and my pain. I wish to find just one doctor that I can go to and who realizes I have tried all other outlets and this is what works for me. I am a responsible mother not a junkie I am just tired of my chronic back pain!

Hi, Maria! Sorry that you're in so much pain.

As to refills on these types of medications, that's probably not going to happen with a regular doctor. There are major restrictions on what they can prescribe for pain, how much of it they can prescribe and how long they can prescribe it. An effort is underway to make these medications available for short-term use only.

Vicodin and Norco both contain the same active ingredients Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, it's a narcotic analgesic that may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Thus, if you require long-term treatment for chronic pain, it's doubtful you'll be able to continue getting this medication and you'll likely need to go to a pain management specialist.

I do not but I have a PPO now. So I believe I can go directly without s referral. I was residing up on it and I guess they do something similar to what I had with my two c-sections (a saddle block?) Im going to start the process. The worst that can happen is feeling the way I do now I suppose. It's unfortunate about the hydrcodone because it helps me and I don't have to take it every day like some newer medicines they tried to push on me for my Lupus. Those medicines made me feel worse than my normal solution of mind over matter. All the online drug stores are not reputable I assume?

I'm in Marin, have seen 10 doctors none of whom will help. Been to pain management 10 times, they don't prescribe and send you back to your primary. A vicious circle, scam, con and money grab. CRPS is excruciating and non stop. I dread each day a nightmare relentless. Please provide referrals. Thanks.
