There are no listings of doctors according to medications they will or will not prescribe.

And due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, if you require such a medication on a long-term basis, you'll need to see a specialist. General practitioners have been severely restricted in what they can prescribe, how much they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it and how long they can prescribe it.

Klonopin is a benzodiazepine, so it has the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that would be the easiest way to get the help you need.

I am not sure where you got your information that GPs have been restricted in which medicines they can prescribe. Maybe your state has a new law . In New York with the new electronic filing, Doctors are required to electronically file prescriptions in a timely manner. They are subject to fines if this is not done. Some people are worried that GPs that normally write between 7 and 15 prescriptions a day will quite writing them due to the 3 to 10 minutes it takes per patient and the threat of hefty fines .
