Hello, Jean! How are you?
Yes, all medications start to lose efficacy once past their expiration date and may not work as well as they did, when new. The issue this creates with antibiotics, such as Bactrim, is that it may no longer properly eradicate the bacteria, which could cause it to become drug resistant.

It would really be best to see your doctor for a new prescription, if you suspect that you have an infection.
Is there anything else I can help with?
