Diphen Lidocain

Updated

My Dr. prescribed Nystatin, Diphhen, Rulox, Lido for a sore throat that has lingered for three months. The directions are to swish and swallow 15mls every 8 hours. I get the numbness described in your thread, but only for about 10 minutes. It does not mention not eating before/after dosage, however, I have chronic constipation and wondered if it is from this compound?

Hi Macrooster,

Sorry to hear about your throat. How has it been feeling since the timing of your post?

According to NIH.gov, constipation is indeed listed as a side effect of Diphen (Diphenhydramine).

I didn't find this side effect listed under any of the other ingredients you mentioned, but hopefully this will help shed some light on what might've been causing your chronic constipation.

Have you tried taking any digestive enzymes and/or probiotics for relief?

Thank you for the response. I was not able to find that side effect online so could not figure out what was going on. I am drinking Smooth Move and it is helping. Sore throat still here but only 3 days on meds.
