I have been prescribed diluadid 2mg and took a lot of them because they didn't seem to work. I finally realized that they (diluadid 2mg) work in about 50 minuates. Why don't the doctors tell you that?

Hello, Sally! How are you?

You should never take more than what has been prescribed, doing otherwise puts you at risk of an overdose that could be fatal.

Additionally, there are almost no oral medications that work instantly. They all take time to work, because they must be digested and then processed into your blood stream.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Unless a medication is designated as instant release, it will usually take at least 20 minutes to start working.

Is there anything else I can help with?
