These can be common side effects of Multaq, which contains the active ingredient Dronedarone and is used to treat irregular heartbeat.

However, they should start to taper off as your body adjusts to the medication, which can usually take about 4 to 6 weeks.

How severe is it?
Have you consulted your doctor?

If it is very severe, then talking to your doctor is the best thing you can do, because it may not be the right medication for you. There is also a chance they may be able to help you find something you can use to lessen their severity, while you get used to the medication.

I had a couple of problems when I started taking Multaq. The worst being anxiety. I have never had anxiety before, and didn't know what was happening to me. Thought I was having a heart attack. I asked the doctor if I could take a .5 mg. xanax before taking the Multaq to try and abate the anxiety, and it worked like a dream. Now I don't even have to take the xanax. The other problem was stomach upset....awful!! Take a Prilosec in the morning BEFORE taking Multaq. Also, my gastroenterologist has me taking Citrucel (full dose) mixed with 1/2 dose of Miralax every night for the rest of my life. Problem solved!!
