Diabetes And Linzess

Taken this med for a year, just got the word from Dr I have type 2 diabetes. did any one else develop diabetes after taking Linzess?

Interesting. I've been taking Linzess for about 2 yrs now (145 mcg) and it has worked great for my motility problem. About nine months ago, I started having symptoms of neuropathy in my hands & feet & have had lots of testing done to no avail. However, while my glucose tolerance test came back good, I was told that something called Hemoglobin A1C was 5.7 which may indicate prediabetes. After so much searching as for why I am experiencing nueropathiv pain, I'm afraid I might end up being diagnosed with diabetes. Because I love a healthy lifestyle and diabetes does not run in my family, i've been considering the medications that I have been on in the last few years. I don't know how or why might cause someone to get diabetes..but it does work on certain nerves in your intestines. Which test did you take to find out you had diabetes type two?

It isn't listed among the known possible side effects listed by the FDA for this medication, or among the complication warnings. Typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, fever, bloating and flatulence.

Sometimes, someone just develops diabetes and it isn't necessarily caused by anything. My ex-husband was diagnosed as type 2 in his late 20's and it didn't run in his family or etc.

It's hard to say why it happens it many cases.

Has anyone else experienced this?

my doctor ran a u/a and found sugar in urine then ran the blood glucose and AC1 diagnostic. My AC1 is 11.3...keep me in touch with your results. I'm interested.
