Hello, Nadiahope! How are you?

Actually, they are both the same type of medication, as listed by the FDA, they are both PPIs, so you'd essentially be doubling up, which isn't advisable.

Additionally, the discomfort you're experiencing could be due to a side effect of the Dexilant, it can cause that, along with nausea, dizziness and the flatulence that you're experiencing. Which goes to the next point, neither one of these medications will alleviated your gas, they may actually cause it.

How long have you been taking the Dexilant?

I have been taking Dexilant for a while now. I have recently moved and was unable to get an appointment with a healthcare provider in a timely manner. I will run out of the medication before I can see the doctor. I do not want to abruptly stop the medication. Which over the counter product would you recommend I use until I can see a doctor and have the prescription for Dexilant renewed?
