Detoxing From Subutex

Updated

Im on day 3 of subutex withdrwals. I read a lot of horror stories about coming off this drug but so far it has been a lot easier than I expected but I've been told that it may get worse on day 4 or 5. So far nights have been the worst part, can't sleep as my legs have a mind of their own and keep having spasms. No sickness yet and feeling ok by day apart from tiredness and only being able to stand for short periods of time.
I put off giving up sooner cause i thought it was going to be hell and I'm praying it won't get much worse in the next few days cause I can cope well if it stays as it is now.

Hello, Jo! How are you? Are things still going well?

The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, diarrhea, rebound pain and depression.

What dosage were you taking and how long had you been on it?

Hi Verwon. I'm doing great actually, i started off at 16mg of sub but i cut down very slowly over a 2 year period and got right down to 0.4mg before i jumped. I had been in opiates including street stuff for about 15 years. In the subs for about 10 years. My withdrwals weren't as expected as i didn't have bad stomach at all which amazed me and i was dreading the sickness. The worst for me and I'm still feeling it is the tiredness and lack of energy although I'm just starting to sleep better now.

By the way, gabapentin helps if you can get any. I was lucky as my partner has plenty but don't take them for more than a few weeks as you will get addicted to those instead. I'm not taking anything now and I've given up the fags too in the hope i will get some energy back. I am drinking a few bottles of wine each week to help me sleep.
