I was on Azmacort for 20 years, and now am forced to take Symbicort or Advair which both contain LABA and have been causing some asthma related deaths. Neither one control my asthma like azmacort did. It is a sad story that they have out-lawed CFC inhalers because they harm the environment. Actually, it's quite a laughable situation when it come right down to it. A very survival of the fittest law, I do believe, because hundreds of thousands of people are suffering. The HFA inhalers are a joke and one has no real rescue inhalers. I'm sure it all comes down to the good old mighty dollar which is always at the expense of human life or human quality of life. 'The times they are a changin' as in the prophetic words of good old Bob Dylan. As we swim to keep our heads above water in a sea of corporatism. The American dream drowns into a pit of people that just where a shiney mask to shadow their stepfordian ideals, and greed for money. Beneath the mask is profound emptiness....Sad:(

I totally agree, Karen, about meds being ruined and rendered nowhere near as effective because the propellant (CFCs) was removed.
I'm very familiar with Azmacort. Used after a bronchodilator when I knew I was headed for trouble, the Azmacort was so good that a couple hours later, I'd forget that I even had a problem ! I've been using Advair now. Fortunately my asthma sort of calmed down a lot nowdays, but I know there were at least 4 occasions that Azmacort backed me away from what would have become an emergency. When I think of those times, I am Soo grateful that I had Azmacort.
I didn't know Azmacort had been ruined also by the No CFCs crap, so obviously I haven't used it in awhile.
I still have outside allergies (not asthma related) and the environmentalists also Ruined Nasacort. When it had a propellant, it was Awesome !
It Just. kicked. hayfever's. butt. ....It is Pathetic without it. I don't mind being Earth friendly, but don't **** with my Meds !
