I got my syrup from cvs and it is not thick at all. It's very runny. Is that the correct consistency? Didn't stop cough nor did i get any sleep like my doctor stated. Called pharmacy to make sure i got correct medicine and the rude pharmacist said yes.

Hi Jane,

Sorry to hear about the Cheratussin AC not working as well as it should. Unfortunately any medication can be a hit or miss in that regard. However, as far as Cheratussin's consistency is concerned I believe it should have a thicker liquid viscosity than say fruit juice for example, and not necessarily as thick as maple syrup either... It's honestly been a while since I've taken Cheratussin - but
now that you mention how runny yours was, I do recall my last experience with it also being more runny than what I feel I've taken in the past. I also remember thinking to myself at the time if they had watered it down. That seems very likely. Finding some sort of proof on the other hand remains elusive, as I don't think big pharma would ever own up to such a thing.

Has anyone else here taken Cheratussin AC so we know we aren't 'hallucinating'? Lol

I got this a few years back and it practically saved my life (well, not really, but you know what I mean). I had the worst cough of my life and this stuff did wonders! It also knocked my butt out. Fast forward to Christmas 2014. Got super sick again so my husband went to pick up another bottle. This time it did NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. Didn't help my cough...didn't make me tired or dizzy....didn't do anything. Thought maybe I had a bad batch. Tonight I went to get another bottle and now the same thing is happening. Or rather, not happening! Hasn't help my cough, not tired, etc. Have they changed the recipe??? This really makes me sad because it was so amazing the first time I took it!
