Cefixime Dose Given Early To 3 Month Old Baby

My 3 minth ild baby girl got urine infectiin and doctor advised to give cefixime 2.5ml, 2 times a day for 7 days. By mistake i have given one dose in morning and one dose in afternoon. Instead of giving doses in morning and night. Is there anything to worry. Please help.

Giving them too close together generally won't cause dangerous harm, but if consistent levels aren't maintained in her body for the proper amount of time, it may not eradicate the bacteria and could cause it to develop antibiotic resistance.

Thus, it would be best to inform her doctor, so they can check, just in case.

The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and a yeast infection.
