Caverject Vs Viagra
UpdatedI had a prostatectomy in 09 and used viagra for 4 years. I was finding that I couldn't maintain my erection long enough during intercourse, so went to a urologist. He suggested caverject. Although I was initially opposed to using such therapy, I decided to try it. It works, maybe too well. The urologist didn't do a good job determining a correct dose. He used 1cc or 20mcg's in his office, and I had a very hard erection. He gave me a tablet to take if it lasted too long and sent me away. It lasted long and I was terrified to go to hospital. I'm a runner and so I ran and after 4-5 hours it went down. I continued to use it myself and checked on with his nurse. She was better than he was and she recommended 1/2 of that amount or 1/2cc/10mcg's of caverject. That was too light of a dose and so I experimented. My wife and I have a date once a week and it took me about 18 weeks to arrive at an acceptable dose, which varies between .55-.60cc's. I had some bad occurrences of too much drug and had an erection too long, 5hours plus. I've gone back to viagra and am having more success with that. It's more natural than caverject, ie., my erection goes down right after I have an orgasm. My wife much prefers viagra because of this reason. I'm intending on using caverject again, maybe this week, but maybe I'll just try it myself. If I could settle on a dose that allows me to have intercourse and then go down in half-hour, that would be fine. To summarize my using caverject, I'm still looking for just the right dose w/o having to have an evening long erection. The viagra has been working for the past 3 weeks, but it does have side effects. I get very light-headed. My wife says, "so what, you don't need to go anywhere, just stay home, relax and take it easy." She prefers the viagra to the penile war club that is caverject.
