Hi Andre,

Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Vicodin (acetaminophen + hydrocodone) and Ibuprofen. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate.

Because I am not a doctor the most I can tell you is that, based on what I've read, these two medications are regarded as being safe to take together and shouldn't present any problems outside of the normal side effects associated with each medication.

I hope this helps to answer your question!

You can, but it shouldn't be done for long periods of time and your kidney function should be checked on a regular basis, while you are taking them.

Combining the Ibuprofen with the Acetaminophen in the Vicodin does create the risk of them being toxic to your kidneys.

Has your doctor prescribed both?

'is it ok to take 1 hydrocodon acetaminoph 7.5-750 tablet and 1 ibuprofen 600mg at the same time ?"

I am not a doctor, but to my knowledge combining the two is not a problem. However the amount of acetaminophen in your hydro is pretty high. Remember never take more than 4,000mg(4grams) of acetaminophen in a day. The first number is 7.5mg in the hydro(opioid) and The second number 750mg of "tylenol"(acetaminophen) is pretty high. In the combo pill formula you are taking 5 would be your limit per day. Ironically it is the acetaminophen that is more damaging to your visceral organs(e.g. liver) than the opioid in it.

Stay with the NSAID drugs to supplement your hydro 7.5-750 for more pain relief. Also you may want to ask your perscriber(e.g. doctor)to give you a 7.5 with less acetaminophen. I know that Norco(r) 10mg-325 are available but do not know if they come in the cheaper generic. You can break them in half and thus get 5mg-163mg acetiminophen if you want to take them more often through out the day and there would be no danger of acetiminophen danger but i higher dose of opioid painkiller.

Again I am not a doctor or pharmacist. In fact I would consult your pharmacist because they usually no more than the doctor about pharmacology reactions: no effect, good and bad effects.

DO NOT JUST STOP TAKING HYDROCODONE COLD TURKEY. YOU WILL GO INTO WITHDRAWAL.

good luck, peace and love and all the good things in life to you.

If I just took 800mg of ibuprofen, how long should I wait to take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325? The meds were given after heart surgery.
