Hello, Bebo! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

It could, if the edema gets severely bad.

However, as reported by the NIH, you should have this checked out by your doctor. That edema should be treated, because letting it continue could lead to congestive heart failure and there could be some other medical issue going on that requires treatment.
