No, this will not treat the fungus that causes athlete's foot.
This is a steroid cream that is used to treat allergic reactions and immune disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin dryness, redness, itching, rash and irritation. There is also a chance that it may worsen your current issue.
You should consult your medical practitioner to discover what would be safest for you to use.

Persivate ointment is a steroid that is typically used for allergic type skin rashes such as eczema and dermatitis. It can also be prescribed for some inflammatory skin conditions.
So while it may help with symptoms such as itching, it will not actually treat the underlying condition in this case, and will not stop the fungus.
