Subutex 460 Vs 54 411 (Page 3)

Updated

Does the Buprenorphine 8mg 460 work as well as 54 411's? I'm curious as I've seen other imprints, just not 460. Please let me know if they are better or worse.

Yes I too posted all the info. And then a # to contact Wentworth pharmaceutical where they were distributors. Actually they're made in India @ Sundail. I urge everyone to file a complaint with the FDA. Good luck

[Reply to Crg] Never used blink, but three things i do wanna say. Number 1, I live in OH and my Doc is in Pa, so i face the same issue, it's not impossible to find somewhere though. You will have more luck walking in rather than calling as they will usually say they don't carry them over the phone (security purposes / controlled substance). Since you live in WV I've heard of people having luck at The Medicine Shoppe in Whg, WV. Secondly, 350 or whatever you said isn't that bad. I'm paying 280 for a month prescription currently, and the reason I had to seek a new pharmacy is bc i lost my insurance & the one i was going to charges $15 PER TABLET, $850 TOTAL, EACH MONTH! So you should start counting your blessings bc it could be worse, as far as the financial aspect of it goes. And lastly, please don't leave comments insinuating that you took medicine from someone else's prescription. And this goes for everyone, IN CASE YOU GUYS ARE ALL OBLIVIOUS, ANY KIND OF CHAT REGARDING A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SUCH AS THIS, IS MOST DEFINITELY BEING MONITORED, AND THIS MEDICATION IS PREEETTTY CLOSE TO BEING TAKEN AWAY FROM THOSE OF US WHO NEED IT & USE IT PROPERLY, BC OF THE FEW THAT DO NOT. SO WE'D APPRECIATE ANYONE WHO DOES ANYTHING STUPID TO KEEP IT TO YOURSELF TO AVOID RUINING IT FOR THE REST OF US. THANKS.

Horrible past two months on the 460's! I called cvs customer support, they said "we can try to find another store that has 54 411's." Of course more run around & lies. Recovery has been fine for years on 54 411, 460's burn badly, bother my stomach make me nauseous increase in headaches & worst of all...cravings! It's been over 6+ years since I felt those & it's scary. Even more frightening...if it's true, that they are only allowing pregnant women to take Bupre. I can't take suboxone makes me sick. I'm changing pharmacies from CvS to somewhere that will order what I pay close to $300 for! I'm so over the run around, lies & judgement when I'm just trying to get a medication that has help save my life. Hopefully RiteAide will accommodate or a mom & pop pharmacy. I'd rather give business to someone that can help me instead of give me anxiety & grief. Cvs used to be great w/ 54 411's this is what happens when chain pharms get too big, the customer doesn't matter anymore, just how much money they make, sad as it is. If everyone goes somewhere else it will get noticed, use your money as your voice. I pray it works next week??

I have had to switch to suboxone strip's due to the fact Wentworth makes this brand at Sundail in India. That's where this garbage subutex comes from. My Dr advised me to file complaints with the FDA. So perhaps if we collectively do this something will be done. At least we tried.

No no no I didn't take his medicine. That is what he said, they tasted like the 8 mg ones and that he likes them. I've got my own medicine, no need to take his. I typed that msg when HE first got them...and said I instead of he, bc he had just tried them like 5 mins before I wrote this post. calm down, it was just a typo. I was looking on the internet regarding that type of pill for him bc we hadn't seen them before. I take this seriously. I've been in recovery for 6 years and need my medicine as much as anyone else. A lot of other people out here selling them and acting stupid in pharmacies are the ones that are screwing it up for everyone else. Not a typo on a post...I just think it's a shame how pharmacies want to be when illicit drugs are so bad. You'd think they'd want people to be on subutex vs. street drugs. But $800+ sounds crazy, I've never seen them priced that high. My doctor is trying to reduce me now and I'm actually ready to be off it. Too much hassle, money, and time and I'd be so happy if I could do it. Hope I can soon. But I've been in a lot of pharmacies and they all are rude and tell me no. I've went to medicine shoppe as well and they have a waiting list. I've spent days going to different pharmacies. So as long as my little mom & pop pharmacy keeps them I'll be okay. It's just not like this in other states was the point I was getting to and I wonder why it has to be so difficult here to get the help u need.

Ugh it saddens me to see so many people having issues with the new 460's like myself. There should very soon be more stock so cvs can order it. Due to the company merging with another it's put a pause on the medication they make. Cvs only switched because sun pharma the maker of the 460's is selling it to them cheaper. Furthermore... i dont care what anyone says, it's a forum, say what you want even if it's stupid to others. No one is going to take your medication away, stop making it etc. Don't let one person whose self righteous stop you from speaking out regardless of controlled substances, monitoring etc. It's yah know a forum like I said. Don't judge just on words. Everyone's here for one reason or another and could be in which ever state of mind so if they aren't completely being immoral to your sense of person then leave - *drops microphone*.

The process is NOT WITH CVS. They were just the pharmacy we got the Roxane brand from which is obsolete now. Also CVS is in a huge legal suit for refusing to honor Rx coupons. My daughter always uses one now, but was told it was left to the pharmacy's discretion, which apparently is unlawful cause they're being sued. My pharmacist told me so it's not hearsay. He spoke freely about our dilemma and like my Dr suggested, we filed complaints with the FDA. This is all about a multi billion dollar industry. Not about anyone caring if we have our meds and they are working. I'm praying someone will though in the FDA. We have to speak out. There's power in numbers remember. If enough people file complaints with Wentworth/Sundail in India where they are made with God knows what. It's frustrating as hell. We have an opiate crisis at epidemic levels. From the soccer mom buying illicit drugs to replace an addiction to Percocet from a Dr. It's happening and it's real, getting worse everyday. I've struggled all my life with opiates and finally after Roxane brand my life was good. Now I'm forced to take suboxone strip's and am thankful I have insurance today that will cover. Nothing seems to be fine or certain anymore.

Cvs WAS the pharmacy that carried the Roxanne/Westward brand! They just like other big chains can only get what their wholesaler orders. Example..Tried stop & shop they could put in an order but couldn't guarantee they would get in the 54 411's. They receive from Teva, Actavis, Mylan & Roxane/West-ward. Try smaller independent pharmacies "mom & pop" shops! They ordered the 54-411's for me & because I pay out of pocket cause insurance won't cover... Quoted me just under $200 for 90! At least $80 less then Cvs & other large chains. Guess who is getting my business ;-)... Search for your local independent pharmacies they are not forced into contracts & can order from who they want! If u don't hear from me again the order really did come in...still cautious until it's in my hand. I already put my call into Cvs customer help regarding the crappy 460's from Sun Pharm w/the burning acidic sensations, stomach irritating, nausea causing, & frequent headaches. More important the unsettling cravings & off balance I've felt for two months on this stuff from India... "Sun Pharmaceuticals." Stay local Roxane/West-ward is made in U.S. In NJ. p.s.. Take it as prescribed don't abuse it & ruin it for everyone who's lives it has helped or even saved. Good luck.

Crg i apologize, i wasn't trying to jump down your throat, i've just read other comments that were insinuating unnecessary things and it's frustrating bc i just read an article on my local news website where 32 people were arrested in a "Suboxone-Subutex drug ring" and the officer whom was reporting the incident was saying how everyone gets "addicted" to them, and it's an "epidemic", and then they have to get their "fix" -- using words like that and speaking of this medication as if it were illicit and people are fending for it which i most definitely don't see how they view it this way, but it's sooo irritating when they put this stigma over a whole group of people just because of a few people's actions. And Dani who thinks she's so coy with her comment, i'm not going to debate with you but I'll say this, you honestly have to be so uninformed to think there is no possibility that this medication can be discontinued in the near future because of what is going on with people being arrested for selling medication, or getting kicked out of clinics for manipulating drug panels or just failing them continuously. A CLINIC NEAR ME JUST GOT SHUT DOWN A MONTH AGO BC THE PHYSICIANS ASSOCIATED WITH IT REFUSED TO RELEASE PATIENTS' INFORMATION TO D.E.A. AGENTS! ...And this comes after the previous time DEA visited them, about a year ago at which time they cut the clinic's Subutex supply (it was a 2-in-1 clinic/pharmacy) and made them switch 90% of patients' prescriptions who were previously taking it, to Suboxone. The ONLY exceptions were if they had a document from a CERTIFIED ALLERGIST stating their PROVEN allergy, or were breastfeeding an infant UNDER 6 months of age. Does that not tell you they are checking in to things?!?! I think so... And for the record it has nothing to do with being "self-righteous"; it is having concern for the portion of the recovery community that utilizes M.A.T. as their chosen route to recovery.

kdmrXohio it's alright, it did sound like I meant that I took them after I re-read it, but I didn't mean that at all. He actually said he likes the 460s. Maybe others just have different reactions to the inactive ingredients in them. But I use to go to a clinic in TN a few years ago before I moved up north. Down there the doctors would hardly prescribe subutex at all, you were incredibly lucky if you got it, most everyone I talked to was on suboxone. So when I moved up north it was amazing to me that so many clinics wrote subutex Without a doctors note or being pregnant or nursing. So some places like TN has already cut down big time of prescribing subutex. But the pharmacies here are the places that are the most difficult to deal with. I've never in my life heard of big pharmacies turning away customers, not carrying or offering to order medication a doctor is prescribing you. That's what pharmacies are there for, to fill medication a doctor writes for you in order to help you. It has completely blown my mind and most pharmacies look at you like you are a criminal for even asking. I went into a Walgreens once in PA and after asking if they carried subutex the pharmacy tech rolled her eyes, huffed real loudly and was like "NO!" Then i said well thanks and she said well sometimes we do and sometimes we don't, I never know when they are going to send it. What a stupid answer.

The pharmacist orders the medicine for customers, so if they have constant customers getting it, they have to keep reordering it. And I don't see how big chains can say no to a legal prescription and a paying customer. I actually talked to someone pretty high up from rite aid and even he acted like there was nothing he could do about this problem. But yes, there is a huge stigma around subutex and the people selling their pills for street drugs, the people selling their medicine out in the parking lots of the clinic and cops getting called, failed drug panels like u said and ppl bringing in fake urine, and the ones acting like complete hellions when a pharmacy turns them down may hurt the availability of clinics and the very limited availability of pharmacies who actually carry it. Those people are the ones giving this subutex a bad name. It saved my life and I know it has many others too. It makes me feel normal and that's it! It's the people out selling theirs for other drugs that make it look bad and that's what law enforcement and anyone of power and authority see. The bad acts, the addicts getting subutex and suboxone to sell for other stuff. Bc when u are completely on subutex you feel normal, nothing more nothing less. I use to get energy off it but it doesn't even do that for me anymore. But those people are not going to stop and I just hope until I can get off of this, they won't crack down on it even more than they already have.

Btw, I wrote I had switched to suboxone strips cause I couldn't find any subutex as effective as Roxane. I went back to my Dr which is so awesome, he really cares. I've been his patient a long time, we have that trust thing. So he tells me to try Mylan. I thought they were bad too once from what I had read. I've been on them for about a week and they are just as effective and last longer than wentworth or any other subs. Just wanted to throw that out there. And if you use an Rx coupon the price isn't too bad. My friend doesn't have insurance and for 90 it was 245.00. Ok, I'm done with this thread. God bless and I wish you all well.

WOULD ANYONE BE INTERESTED IN STARTING A PETITION TO PROVE THAT THESE BIG CHAIN PHARMACIES (CVS, WALMART, RITE AID, WALGREENS ETC) TREAT US UNFAIRLY BECAUSE OF THE PRESCRIPTION WE GET, REFUSE TO ORDER OUR PREFERRED MEDICATION WHEN THEY VERY WELL COULD EASILY DO SO, AND REFUSE TO FILL OUR PRESCRIPTIONS FOR REASONS LIKE THEY'RE NOT ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS (BUT ONLY FOR THAT MEDICATION), OR BECAUSE OF WHERE WE LIVE OR WHERE OUR DOCTOR'S OFFICE IS, OR ONLY IF WE PAY WITH CASH -- IT'S NOT RIGHT! IT'S DISCRIMINATION! AND ONLY OUR SPEAKING UP WILL CHANGE THAT BECAUSE THE ONLY THING THEY CARE ABOUT IS PROTECTING THEIR REPUTATION! REPLY WITH MY NAME IN THE COMMENT TO LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! THANKS!.

kdmrXohio YES! I would sign the petition, and so would everyone I know. That is the talk of my doctor visits just about every month. Everyone speaks about how unfairly rite aid, cvs, Walmart, Walgreens and other big chains treat them. I think a lot of people on this medicine would agree to sign a petition. & if the 460s are giving certian people problems, their CVS should cater to the customer and order a different brand or it shouldn't be an issue to go to another pharmacy down the street instead of driving around for days and wasting time and gas trying to find a pharmacy that will fill their medicine. I've driven 2+ hours just to get turned down at every turn for this medicine. It's not right AT ALL. Like I said, I don't know if a lot of other states experience this. But I know PA, OH, and WV are horrible for it. TN and VA were not bad and you could get them filled almost anywhere. I even took a PA prescription of subutex to VA and the DEA # checked out, I had a valid ID, and got them filled no problem. But in PA I went into a rite aid and politely asked if they carried it and the woman legit acted scared and stepped backwards from the counter...her welcoming demeanor instantly changed when I mentioned subutex. Big chain pharmacies should not have the right to choose which medicine they will carry OR fill for people as long as the DEA# checks out, the doctor is legit, and you have a state issued ID (from any state) they should cater to the customer. Neighboring states should not be able to deny you, that is ridiculous bc 6 hours away filled a PA script so obviously it isn't against the law. It is the pharmacists! Bc the guy I talked to from rite aid told me that the pharmacist can deny whoever he/she wishes. Which is crap! I don't know if that is a legit law but as long as everything is legal, I don't see how they can. I'm pretty sure it's not a law bc why would a rite aid in VA fill a PA script. Pharmacies are there to fill medicine for people. I don't see how they can pick and choose which disease or illness they will help people with, that's what it boils down to. I wonder if they treat people the same that are prescribed pain pills? I have been angry about this for years I can't understand how it's legal or ethical. So yes, 100% I'd sign a petition, this is discrimination and it seems illegal to me, but I'm not sure. But It is for sure discrimination.

Yes I too would gladly sign this petition. We need to designate someone with info if possible. I've experienced this at CVS the tention and stares. Now the staff is all people of color. I am white. First I thought this is a racial thing. I requested to speak to a manager. The problem seemed resolved actually they were just sneaky. It was in May my last script of Roxane. When I took my new script with refills in they informed me they were out and to take to another CVS 15mls. Away. It's a damn shame in 2017 with plenty of knowledge and awareness of the opiode crisis at epidemic levels we are snubbed. SHAME ON ALL OF THEM!!!! LET'S GET A PETITION!!!!!

Roxane56 or anyone else who would be able to help with info on Rx cards?

I recently lost my insurance. My usual pharmacy charges $850 for 56 tablets (1 month), $15 each for Roxane-WestWard (54 411). I have found a new pharmacy a bit further from me that charges $5 each, totaling $280 each month for 56 Roxane-WestWard tablets. However, this is still quite pricey for me considering we are a one-income household and my fiancee has recently been laid off, coupled with fact that along with the $280 for a prescription I am also paying for counselling and appointment costs that day, which is $510 altogether that I pay, and since I used to have insurance I never used an RX card, but honestly I didn't even think pharmacies accepted them for this medication. Can anyone tell me which ones I could look for? It would help out so much as my appointment is tomorrow, and for the first time, I will not be able to afford my entire prescription because of this layoff. We are really struggling. Thanks guys.

@kdmrXohio,

MedsChat has a free pharmacy savings card that can be accessed via the following link: Rx Savings Card

It's reportedly good at over 60,000 pharmacies across the US and may help you save anywhere from 15-75% off the cost of your prescription.

I hope this helps!

Roxanne56, Yea it's a shame how the pharmacy employees treat us. At my little mom & pop pharmacy, they are always kind and welcoming but they know us subutex patients are willing to hand over $400 cash bc they do not accept insurance on this medicine. But whatever the reason for their kindness, I do not care. I just want the same basic human respect I show them, no matter what I'm getting filled. Bc at the end of the day we are all human beings and we all have stuff we're struggling with or have struggled with in the past. I hate when people act like they are above me and act like I'm just a worthless druggie. I mean I know they've probably had to deal with people getting this medicine filled who acted a damn fool, but that doesn't mean we are all like that. Most all the big chains will not help you in the least bit, the ones I've dealt with anyways. They just say no and are so rude about it and if I've ever ask if they know of any other place that carries it, they snap at me and say no I have no idea. That "blink" app is awesome if one could find a big chain pharmacy that had subutex. You pay blink under $150 and on your 1st script u get 15% off, and they work with Walmart, CVS, Kroger, Rite Aid, etc. and u go to the pharmacy and show them where you've already paid blink bc you receive a confirmation after you send blink your money and then you go pick it up at the pharmacy. I guess blink pays the pharmacy. But I've researched A LOT about it and there are so many articles talking about how it's saved ppl so much money. But the thing is you'd have to find a big chain pharmacy that works with blink who consistently carries subutex. Next time I'm at Walmart I'm going to ask the pharmacist if they'll order it if I pay blink since they work with them, or will I have to go on a hunt for a pharmacy that carries subutex first. Bc until I know for sure I'm not paying blink and then I'm unable to find a pharmacy. Bc I do not have insurance either, like the other post mentioned. But if someone could get everything worked out with blink, that'd save some major money. I'd just make sure to research the hell out of it and ask your pharmacy before u spend any money. But yes, if someone would start a petition, I'd definitely sign it. Pharmacies treat us so unfairly it's awful. Also, we shouldn't be taken advantage of either bc that's what these small pharmacies are doing bc they know the big chains deny us left and right so they can easily charge $400-$800. Which they have every right to charge what they want, but still after paying the doctor and pharmacy I have walked out of the pharmacy MANY times with $2 to my name. But I did this to myself, I am aware. But it just sucks when u are trying to overcome addiction and live a normal life you have to constantly be belittled, turned down, shunned away, and labeled bc of a mistake you are trying to fix. At least we are trying to get better and that should be looked at as a good thing.

The 460 gave me a complete adverse effect! I had some withdrawals switching from 54 411 to the 460. My body must be used to the 54 411 pills. I think they work way better... but that may just be because that it what I am used to. Looks like I'm going to have to find a different pharmacy than CVS to use!

There is no difference between 8 mg sub 54 411 vs 460. They're both the same - same as suboxone - people make stuff up to get what they want out of them. It's a myth that just cause suboxone is sweeter it's not as good as subutex. Well if u even knew what u were talking about u would know they're the same meds and subutex is only generic suboxone so if anything suboxone should be the better med of the 2 and if u were not trying to feel high on them u would know they both work the same - when u get sick- either one will take your withdrawal sickness away. If u say one is stronger n one isn't and u are searching for that high, stop taking subs cause this is a medicine not a drug in that case. Try to get yourself better- if u truly are only taking subs to not go to jail - and not to get better and get a legal high, then u need help! Go to rehab - I'll pray for u. It amazes me the lengths people go through to feel high!?
