I'm no doctor but I heard of a drug released by Amgen called Neupogen which is supposed to stimulate the production of white blood cells.

Your doctor should have more information on this and other possible treatments. Good luck!

Hello Ty,

Based on my research, low white blood cell counts are indicative of a suppressed immune system. My research tell me that the diet can play a huge role in keeping the immune system strong and the white blood cell count at a healthy level. If possible, maybe you can implement more fresh fruits and vegetables into your fathers diet (juicing is a great way to do this)- whatever is easiest for him. Carrots as well as other orange, red, yellow, and dark-green leafy vegetables contain beta carotene which helps protect the immune system, especially the thymus gland. Beta carotene and other carotenes can very likely strengthen white blood cell production, plus foods rich in beta-carotene help the body better fight off infection.

There are also plenty of dietary supplements that can possibly help to boost your immune system. I have read about a supplement by the Ligustrum- which is a frequently prescribed supplement to help increase white blood cell count.

Note: All thoughts and opinions expressed are based on my research and should not be mistaken for medical advice. I am not a doctor nor a pharmacist. all medical questions should be answered by a licensed pharmacist or doctor.

I hope the info/advice helps!

Very good overall healthy eating recommendation, bang up job!? Though there is no qualified scientist study present to date that I'm aware of...be careful with a high fructose, mainly fruit centered diet. Because, some doctors have said that there MIGHT be a correlation between a high fructose diet and it possibly causing or not helping pancreatic cancer. Not sure also whether it applies more towards the more common and deadlier Exo vs Endocrine pancreatic cancers. Thank you for your post and I hope mine has been helpful.

Please note: I was studying to be a medical doctor at one point, but became disabled and had to stop. So, I know a lot about medicine and pharmacology, but I'm not a certified health care professional. My opinions are just that and I do not give actual medical advice...only my educated opinions. I like to help steer people into the right direction, but can't be held legally responsible. I'm just a learned individual who is a Christian Reverend and I study medicine as a hobby. Thank you for your time.
