HI, Jeanne! No, the dosages are different.

The tablet with the BP 643 10 on it contains 300mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, while the one with the HP 10 660 marking contains 660mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. These are both generics for Vicodin, Lorcet, Norco and others.

Since they are narcotic analgesics, they may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Learn more Vicodin details here.

Another note that needs to be added here is that as of 2013, the FDA has made a request that all manufacturers lower the amount of Acetaminophen in these combination prescription products to no more than 325mgs per dose.

There are concerns about the dangers of liver damage and failure that can be associated with long-term use of high amounts, as well as the toxicity of overdose.

Some manufacturers have already begun to implement the change and the rest are expected to have it completed by January of 2014. Thus, in the future, please double check and don't just assume that these tablets still contain 660mgs of Acetaminophen.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I started taking the hp 10 300 and it makes me so itchy. I see it has less acetaminophen but there has to be something else in it to make me so itchy. I scratch so hard I bruise. Never had that with the hp 10 660
