Hello! Sorry about your knees!

Unfortunately, Dr. Urist passed away back in 2001, though yes, he is credited with identifying Bone-Mending Protein, he was an orthopedic surgeon.

But, as it is a bone protein, it does not help cartilage, it helps bone. His work identified new proteins to help bones heal, when someone had suffered major fractures. They help with the regeneration of the bone. His work revolutionize orthopedic surgery, though ironically, it was ignored for many years, before finally being acknowledged as the "breakthrough" it was.

Is there anything else I can help with?
