I have taken Benicar for years. Dr. tried a different BP medicine and I started a dry cough for weeks......back to Benicar, and cough went away. In December, Dr. switched me to olmesartan, which, as I understand it is generic for Benecar. I've been coughing ever that even possible? Are the two medicines identical, or is it possible that for me, Olmesartan causes cough but Benicar does not?

I also recently switched from Benicar to the generic form. Can't stop with the dry cough. After hearing of your experience, I'm calling my cardiologist. This is intolerable!
