I recently started a baclofen, amtripyline & gabapentin cream for vuladynia. I have just discovered redness, almost burn like on the edge of the vulva and on my leg. I can not find any information as far as side effects and the doctor's office did not know.
I don't know what to do.

I have been diagnosed with vulvadynia and been working with my gyn/uro doctor for over a year. I have used nustatin, clobetasol, & topicort with no success. I also use Premarin vaginal cream twice weekly. Last week her prescribed a special compound of amitriptyline, baclofen & gabapentin. Has anyone tried this combination. I have a long history of UTI's and major bladder repair surgery including 2 slings of cadaver tissue on my bladder & urethra. Following surgery I was told my skin was very thin. I also have a history of auto immune disease and take a maintenance dose of antibiotics daily. I would appreciate any information or suggestions.

Yes, the FDA lists that is being a possible side effect of this medication, you may also experience skin dryness, flaking, and headache.

However, that could also be a symptom of some antibiotics, since they can cause yeast infections as a side effect.

What is your maintenance antibiotic, and what is the dosage?

Thank you Vermon,. I take a daily dose of 250 mg. of cipro. I also have taken Keflex 250 mg. If I do not take some antibiotic I will get a UTI, I do occasionally get an infection anyway.

So are you saying taking oral cipro and using this ointment could cause an allergic reaction?

The pharmacy remade the compound with a different base ingredient. I have not I the bright cheery red but it does still burn after applying and the vulva is red. Something I was in hopes of helping yet isn't plus dreading applying it each time!!
I see my doctor tomorrow, see what his treatment plan is going to be now. Very disappointed.
